We’ve heard people say that a cross country motorcycle ride can be cleansing for the soul .  Well literally Mitch and Ed are getting cleansed because these boys have be chased by rain this entire ride.

A new rain storm developed over Flagstaff – MB

After being doused things began to clear when they got to Seligman, AZ which is the birth place of the historic Route 66.  The road that our guys have been on since Nashville.

Almost there only about 200 more miles to go!

Rock and Roll at King Baby Studio

This past week brought some excitement to King Baby Studio when Matt Sorum from Guns’n’Roses stopped by to pick up a few pieces from our brand new collection.  Sorum is best known for his time as drummer in the iconic rock band ‘Guns N Roses’ as well as supergroup ‘ Velvet Revolver’.  In 2012 Sorum was honored by being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.   In true “rock” fashion, Sorum spent quite some time in our showroom picking out pieces and now rocks our Lava Rock Bead Bracelet with Jet Skull, multiple Onyx Bead Rosaries and the awesome Chosen Jet Skull ring.  He also scored some King Baby Eyewear to sport at his upcoming nuptials! Thanks for the visit Matt!

Check out what Drew Barrymore is wearing!   She’s rocking a custom made King Baby Studio LOVE/HATE Four-Fingered Ring!! We linked up with stylist Alicia Lombardini not too long ago and she told us about Drew’s new project. She was making her music video directorial debut for the indie darlings Best Coast and their song ‘Our Deal’. Well we jumped on this fashion driven project and supplied this awesome ring that supports the video’s narrative.  Click the links below to see Drew wearing our ring and describing the wardrobing of this modern day telling of Westside Story starring Miranda Cosgrove, Chloe Moretz, and Donald Glover to name a few.

Mitchell is always “re-inventing” the skull and looking for new ways to modernize this fashionable motif.  Pictured above are a few (but far from all) of the designs Mitchell has introduced, giving us many options with skull designed jewelery and accessories.  In many ways the skull is a way to add instant edge to any outfit and pairs just as comfortably with a motorcycle jacket as it does with an oversized flowy blouse.  Attitude is the key to pulling off the look and the attitude depends on how you look at skulls.

Sure the skull could be seen as a “bad-ass” edgy design and that’s of course the King Baby style, but the skull has a surprising back story as far as symbolism goes.  Here’s what we found out about this design, “Mostly understood as a symbol of warning, the skull was often used by ancient cultures to ward off any type of evil influence or illness. It’s philosophically viewed as the seat of intelligence, spirit and the spark of human life. Interestingly, the skull is also the remnant of the body that is the least resistant to decay – another sign of its strength as a symbol. Many primitive cultures believed wearing skulls would insure protection and well-being.” (from

This is your assurance that when you wear your King and Queen Baby skull jewelry, not only are you the coolest person in the room, you may very well be the most “protected”
